Picture yourself sitting on the outdoor patio of a perfect little Italian trattoria, watching the sun set and enjoying a picture-perfect summer dinner. Well, we can’t transport you to Italy, but join us in the kitchen for food that will make you feel like you’ve left Minnesota – if only for a few hours. John Michael Lerma is in the kitchen tonight, cooking up a summer dinner with an Italian accent. Before we start cooking, we’ll enjoy a CAFFE, stove-top espresso cooked in a Moka pot. Then we’ll learn to put together an impressive MISTO, a plate of assorted cheese, prosciutto and salami; combined with FOCACCIA, Italian flatbread with herbs, it’s a hearty start to the meal. CAPE SANTE GRATINATE, scallops au gratin and COCKTAIL DI SCAMPI, shrimp cocktail, are impressive yet easy to make. Next is a summer vegetable soup, ZUPPA DI VERDURE. Then we’ll make three delicious PIZZAS - 4 STAGIONI (mozzarella, tomato, ham, artichoke, olive and mushroom), TONNO E CIPOLLA (mozzarella, tomato, tuna and onion), and GORGONZOLA (mozzarella, tomato and gorgonzola).
